A recent TAUS market study reports that 52 of 129 Language Service Providers (LSPs) are already using machine translation (MT) in their production environment and 86% of the remainder informed they plan to adopt MT within two years.
This report gives an overview of the key issues met by LSP MT practitioners and includes use cases from 6 LSPs who began using MT within the last two years. Their experiences are used to outline user profiles, decision making processes, benefits (30-40% cost reduction / average 70% productivity increase), and investment required.
The report also includes LSP recommendations on what their customers, technology suppliers as well as other LSPs need to know about MT usage to overcome perceived barriers to MT take-up in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
