Company Description

Gavin Wheeldon is the CEO and founder of fast-growth language services provider, Applied Language Solutions.

Established in the UK in 2003, Applied Language Solutions now has 11 offices globally offering translation, localization, interpreting and proofreading services to global clients such as Caterpillar, Nike and the United Nations.

Employing 17 in house software developers Applied Language Solutions has always been a technology focused provider, utilising both industry tools and proprietary software to optimize offerings to suit individual client needs. Since 2008 there has been a strong focus on the use of MT as part of the blended translation offering utilizing the MOSES and Natural Language Processing.

Wheeldon originally trained as a programmer and spent many years in the Content Management and eProcurement industry before joining an LSP. His vision to improve industry standards by investing in automation and language technology drove him to ‘go it alone’, and set up Applied Language Solutions.

This vision of impeccable quality and customer service, along with the use of technology has ensured the company enjoyed year on year international growth, which has been recognised with a Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2010, among many other awards.
