Jaap van der Meer
TAUS is directed by Jaap van der Meer, a language industry pioneer and visionary, who started his first translation company in The Netherlands in 1980. In 1987 his company INK published the first desktop term extraction and translation memory software. He inspired and funded the founding meetings of the LISA organization for the localization industry and he co-founded the SAE TopTec Multilingual Communications Conference for the automotive industry. He was president and CEO of ALPNET. He is also cofounder and partner of Cross Language n.v., a consultancy and system integration company specialized in language technology.
Jaap van der Meer is a member of the Localization World management team, a regular speaker at conferences and author of many articles about technologies and translation and globalization trends.
Andrew Joscelyne
Andrew Joscelyne (writer and consultant for TAUS) has frequented the European language industry for over 15 years, working as a journalist, consultant, analyst and writer. He has helped coordinate awareness raising projects on language technology for the European Commission, edited trade journals on translation and technology and carried out market research into automation solutions for various organizations.
Yan Yu
Yan Yu (technology reviewer and writer for TAUS) is a software and consulting industry veteran, based in San Francisco. Yan was a senior manager at Idiom Technologies managing the implementation and services for many of the big customers. Before joining Idiom, he was working at Oracle. Yan holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, as well as an M.B.A. degree from Louisiana State University.
Anne-Maj van der Meer
Anne-Maj van der Meer (TAUS administrator and webmaster) is working part-time for TAUS. She is studying English language and culture at the University of Amsterdam, where she follows classes on literature and linguistics.
Bob Kuhns
Bob Kuhns (writer and consultant for TAUS) has been active in the design and development of translation technologies since 1993. He worked on several research projects with IDC and he worked in the Globalization and Knowledge Technology Groups for Sun Microsystems for 12 years.
